In Radiosurgery, every millimeter is crucial. It is like the watchmakers handicraft: Only high precision instruments allow for perfect results – masterpieces at work.
In order to provide optimal conditions for the therapist, Precisis gathers expertise and competence of various experts to offer the solutions - resulting from this fruitful cooperation - to everyone. So for instance the collimator, described by Dipl.-Ing. Pastyr and Prof. Dr. Schlegel at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), enabled conformal radiation therapy with unparalleled precision.
As the essential part of the SmartKnife® System it contains leafs of only 1 mm width and is driven exclusively by manual means.
Furthermore the range of products in precision radiotherapy includes various accessories for teletherapy machines. Among these are fixation systems for head and thorax, partially limiting the movement in order to do pinpoint irradiation. Furthermore a couch – and transport systems and ‘Virtuos’ - the treatment planning software – is part of the program.
